Your ingredient and your measure

The conversion accounts for the ingredient’s form and the capacity of your cup, glass or spoon.

Both directions, one tool

Grams to cups, spoons to grams and back again — switch direction without opening another calculator.

Precision starts with the details. And with Panmetry’s own method.

We cross-check official and independent data, examine meaningful discrepancies in detail and account for what affects the conversion:the type of ingredient, its form and your chosen kitchen measure.

Behind every Panmetry answer is a check of the data, not a blindly copied table. You get a result for your chosen ingredient and measure without having to compare reference guides yourself.

Find the cup measure for the weight in your recipe

Start with the gram amount, choose the ingredient and its form, then select the cup you will use. The calculator gives the corresponding volume and a practical kitchen fraction so you can move from the written recipe to your measuring cup.

Keep the calculated value and the kitchen fraction distinct. A nearby fraction is useful when it matches a marking on your cup; the decimal shows how that practical measure compares with the calculated amount.

One gram amount can fill the cup differently

The same mass of flour, sugar or honey occupies a different volume. Panmetry applies its own method to the selected ingredient and keeps the cup capacity separate, so changing the product does not silently change the meaning of your cup.

A US customary cup, a 240 mL recipe cup and a 250 mL metric cup are distinct choices. Use the capacity stated in your recipe or on your measuring set. A rice-cooker cup is a separate measure, too.

Grams to cups: common recipe amounts

This table starts with the amount to measure in grams. It uses all-purpose wheat flour, lightly spooned and levelled, and a US customary cup (236.588 mL).

This reference table keeps the US customary standard shown in its caption. Changing the calculator’s measures updates your result; it does not change the table.
