WHAT TO DO NEXT

Want a calculation for your recipe?

The chart is a starting point. The calculator also uses the food, basket load, appliance type and any other details you know.

What the three timings mean

  1. First check

When to start checking whether the food is done.

  2. Recommended time

    The model's central time estimate.

  3. Upper estimate

The end of the estimated window for planning checks, not a guarantee that the food is done.

Why this is not a blanket “20% less” rule

The chart uses the same model as the calculator, with minimal input. Time and temperature are linked, and oven type is accounted for separately. The reverse conversion works backwards through the same model.

What the chart cannot tell you

The rows do not account for the specific food, its thickness or starting state, or the basket load. They use the widest permitted display window: around 15% of the recommended time, up to five minutes for longer cooking times. Relevant details in the calculator narrow that window.

Food may be ready before or after the estimated window. Check it as you cook and follow the recipe and appliance instructions. For meat and fish, timing does not replace checking a safe internal temperature.

What affects the result

If your cooking conditions differ, start with the guide to the model.
